Current research centers around three major themes:
- Energy-related Research
- Environmental Research
- Research at the Interface between Energy and the Environment
The innovative and creative research conducted by the Applied Geochemistry group is designed to answer fundamental questions related to CO2 and water management in western Canada and elsewhere. The goal is to identify and develop environmentally sound methods for ensuring a sustainable energy supply and agricultural practices while minimizing the impact on the environment. It is anticipated that the Applied Geochemistry group will significantly contribute to the University of Calgary’s mission of becoming an international leader in innovative research related to Energy and the Environment.
