Tracing the fate of industrial sulfur emissions in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

By using a combination of chemical and isotropic techniques, the research team is able to trace the fate of industrial sulfur emissions from sour gas processing plants in the biosphere, pedosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere in the vicinity of such facilities.

Sour gas processing plant, West Whitecourt, Alberta. Long-term environmental monitoring using stable isotope techniques continues.
